Jaipur — Rajasthan's capital and largest city, the Pink City and a major tourism, gems-and-jewellery and education hub with a large student and migrant workforce — has steady demand for rented housing. Since the 2017 amendment, Rajasthan tenancies need a written agreement with a joint Schedule-D intimation to the Rent Authority under the Rajasthan Rent Control Act, 2001; stamp duty for a short agreement is 0.02% of the property's market value via the e-Panjiyan portal, and the default security deposit is one month's rent.
